Things to know
as you prepare to enter high school

Pre-Season
Prior to tryouts, any questions should be directed to Perry Gaffoor (pgaffoor@mpsd.org).
Tryouts conclude on Wednesday 26th August. All roster decisions will be communicated by email no later than 6pm the same evening.
All communication after teams are assigned should be between the coach and the player.
Pre-season practices begin the following morning. All players must bring their signed 'Player and Parent' contracts to be eligible to collect their backpack and uniforms, and select their jersey number for the season.
Team pictures and video intros (varsity-only) will take place in the first week of school.
Fall and Beyond
The fall season moves quickly, with players transitioning into daily practices, games, and team activities. Full commitment is mandatory, along with adherence to all academic, attendance, and behavioral expectations of the school and program.
Varsity and Junior Varsity typically play multiple games each week, while the Freshman
team generally competes once or twice weekly.
Practices are held on non-game days, and while weekend activity is uncommon, it may occur, especially for Varsity.
Freshmen team playing time is equal. As players progress to the JV and Varsity teams, playing time is not guaranteed and is solely at the coach's discretion.
Team culture is strengthened through optional teambuilding activities and
booster-supported events.
