Tryout results are emailed individually to all participants by Coach Perry Gaffoor, no later than 6pm on the final night of tryouts (8/26/24).
2.What happens if my daughter does not make a team?
Cuts are an unfortunate reality of most high school sports, especially Girls Soccer which has large number of girls trying out every year. If your daughter is not offered a roster spot, you can elect to have her try out for another sport or have your Fall Sport Registration Fee reimbursed.
3.When and where are the games?
Most games kick off at 4pm. Freshmen and JV play on the Deftos fields and Varsity plays in the stadium. Away games vary by school. Please see TeamSnap One or ArbiterLive for field location and bus departure details.
4.What does my daughter 'get'?
The school provides the basic necessities for each sport. In our case, that means a home and away jersey and shorts. Socks, backpacks, and pinnies are provided by the boosters. Throughout the year, there are opportunities to purchase more merch at your discretion.
5.Why do we need to fundraise?
Fundraising has always been at the heart of youth sports. Running a successful high school program isn't cheap. Coaching staff, events and team-bonding opportunities, senior scholarships, apparel, and the end of season banquet are all high-cost expenses that our boosters pay for.
6.Why isn't my daughter playing?
At the JV and Varsity level, playing time is determined by many factors, including performances in practices and games. Every situation is different but none are personal. The player should approach their coach about their playing time and seek feedback on where improvements are needed.
7.What do I do if my daughter is absent or dismissed?
Absence or dismissal without prior notification and a valid note submitted to the office will result in the player being unable to participate that day.
8.What if we have other committments?
Per MIAA rules, a player cannot miss practices or games for non-school events. Please reach out to your coach and AD with specific conflicts.
9.Does Summer training influence team placement?
Summer training is designed to prepare the players for tryouts and the season. Attendance is not mandatory, but cannot be recommended enough.
10.Where can I find the schedule and other important information?
The TeamSnap One app will have the latest schedule posted. All other information will be communicated in the app and/or posted on this website.
